	Wire EDM Machines are not made to machine extra tall parts, but we have modified our machines to EDM parts up to 62 inches (1,575mm) tall. We have over 10 wire EDM machines that cut parts up to 18 inches tall.

Our largest wire EDM machine movement is 31.5” x 39.4”, but we can also EDM parts that extend outside the EDM machine.
We can EDM parts up to 24 inches submerged.

Carl Sommer, president of Reliable EDM started in the machining field in 1949. He has worked as a tool and die maker, tool designer, machinist, foreman, and operations manager of a large tool and die stamping shop.

Steve Sommer, vice president, is a mechanical engineer and has worked as a machinist and tool and die maker. He has been working in the EDM field for over 20 years. They are the coauthors of Complete EDM Handbook.

Wire EDM Single Cavity 22 Inches Deep

A customer required a single cavity to be cut out of a tube. We modified one of our machines to cut a single cavity 22 inches deep.

Ram EDM Tall and Large Parts
	We have ram EDMs that are capable of machining tall and heavy parts. Our machines are capable of cutting parts that are 38” x 56”. We also machine tall parts by extensions fixtures. We did one job on a shaft about 12 inches in diameter and 7 feet long. We build a fixture outside of the machine to EDM the part. If you have any questions, call us or e-mail us a print.
Small Hole EDM Tall and Large Parts
	Some of our small hole EDMs are mounted on mills. With this procedure we’re able to drill small holes into very tall parts. We have 7 small hole EDMs.
